Our Co-Founders

Dr. Alex C. Marshall

Artistic Director

Dr. Marshall is a ULL Performing Arts Theatre professor and community leader. With forty years in the industry, he believes in the Art of Theatre and encourages all to "Act" by "Doing." His philosophy is that actions communicate what the ears miss, just as words are our thoughts to be seen.

Dr. Marshall has brought us theatrical productions that warmed our hearts, in spite of their realities. Some notable works include:

  • "A Lesson Before Dying" @ ULL
  • "Before it Hits Home" @ Cite' des Arts
  • "Jar the Floor" - indicative of being aware of the Now and Living in the Present moment and being honest
  • "Shades of Gray"

Dr. Marshall's goal is to enhance your life and to educate you through the power of theatre.

Dr. Joyce Evans

Co-Founder

Dr. Joyce Evans, from Grambling University, Baton Rouge, brings her expertise and passion for theatre to Omni Artiste. Her contributions have been instrumental in shaping the organization's vision and educational outreach.

Brian E Taylor

President

Brian E Taylor's journey with Omni Artiste began in September 2001 when he was hired as a bit performer. Over the years, he has held all positions in film, TV, and stage, demonstrating his versatility and dedication to the arts. In June 2006, Brian incorporated Omni Artiste and was elected as its President, marking a new chapter in the organization's history.

"People are known for saying, 'I Love "Doc's" shows.' or 'When is Omni doing another production?'"

Omni Artiste continues to bring powerful and thought-provoking productions to the community, leaving a lasting impact on audiences and contributing to the rich tapestry of African American theatre.
